TPM3D presented a range of selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printing applications for rehabilitation medicine at the First Sichuan–Chongqing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Academic Conference and the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Chongqing Medical Association’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Branch, held in Chongqing on June 5–6.
The company’s exhibition focused on patient-specific rehabilitation devices, including 3D printed orthotic solutions and customized prosthetic sockets, demonstrating how digital manufacturing can support individualized care in clinical rehabilitation settings.
Digital Manufacturing in Rehabilitation Medicine
Additive manufacturing is increasingly being used in rehabilitation medicine to produce orthoses, prosthetic components, and assistive devices tailored to individual patients. Compared with traditional fabrication methods, digital workflows can reduce manual production steps and enable more customized device designs.
At the conference, TPM3D demonstrated how SLS 3D printing can be integrated into a digital rehabilitation workflow, from device design through production. The applications presented were intended to illustrate practical uses of additive manufacturing for rehabilitation professionals and clinicians.
Conference Focus
The conference brought together rehabilitation specialists, clinicians, researchers, and industry representatives to discuss developments in rehabilitation medicine and healthcare technology.
Sessions covered areas such as neurological rehabilitation, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, intelligent rehabilitation engineering, and geriatric rehabilitation, alongside workshops on emerging clinical technologies.
Attendees visiting the TPM3D booth engaged in discussions on the role of 3D printing in rehabilitation and prosthetics, including the potential for personalized device production and digital manufacturing workflows in clinical practice.
Continued Development of Rehabilitation Applications
TPM3D said it plans to continue developing rehabilitation-focused additive manufacturing applications, including orthotic devices and prosthetic socket solutions, while collaborating with clinicians and healthcare institutions to support broader adoption of personalized rehabilitation technologies.
