TPM3D has earned China’s highest national recognition for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), being named a National-Level Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative (“Little Giant”) Enterprise.
This prestigious designation, awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), was officially announced on October 20, 2025, as part of the seventh batch of recognized enterprises.

The award represents a state-level validation of TPM3D’s deep expertise and pioneering achievements in industrial Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printing.
MIIT defines “Little Giants” as the vanguard of China’s SMEs, companies that are highly specialized, innovation-driven, and equipped with critical core technologies.
For the global manufacturing industry, this recognition reinforces TPM3D’s status as a trusted partner in advanced manufacturing, aligned with China’s national economic and technological strategies.
What is the “Little Giant” Program?
The “Little Giant” program is central to China’s industrial transformation agenda. It draws inspiration from Germany’s Mittelstand model and aims to nurture “Chinese-style Hidden Champions” — highly specialized firms that dominate niche technological markets.
The SRDI framework (Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative) serves as a strategic pillar of the national Made in China 2025 initiative.
Selection criteria are exceptionally demanding, requiring sustained profitability, significant R&D investment (with R&D staff making up at least 15% of total employees), and a robust intellectual property portfolio.
A Major Milestone for TPM3D
TPM3D’s inclusion in this elite group highlights its end-to-end technical strength in industrial SLS 3D printing, exemplifying the “Distinctive” and “Innovative” pillars of the SRDI framework.
SLS technology is globally valued for producing durable, high-performance end-use parts, thanks to its high speed, efficient nesting, and support-free design.

Strengthening Global Competitiveness
Earning the National Little Giant designation cements TPM3D’s role at the forefront of China’s industrial upgrading and solidifies its position as a globally competitive advanced manufacturer.
This recognition further enhances TPM3D’s international credibility, positioning it as an ideal partner for global enterprises seeking R&D collaboration and access to China’s dynamic innovation ecosystem.
